The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently gave five stars to Life Care Center of Hickory Woods, a skilled nursing and rehab center in Antioch, Tenn.

The CMS ratings system, designed to help the public choose quality care for their loved ones, calculates the ratings based on results of health inspections, staffing and quality measures (including pain management, pressure ulcers, weight loss and number of medications used).

"There are not enough words to express how proud I am of the accomplishments of this team," said Ashley Goulet, executive director. "Every day in their interactions with our residents, family members and each other, our associates show every ounce of what it means to constantly strive for excellence."

Goulet praised the associates for fostering a family spirit in the facility.

Life Care Center of Hickory Woods is one of the newest nursing and rehab centers in the Nashville area, opening in 2011.

"I believe that the team approach to delivering care, and Ashley's hands-on management, have led to the success of our five-star rating," said Travis Hillis, vice president of parent company Life Care Centers of America's River Region, which includes nine buildings in Tennessee. "I believe all associates at Hickory Woods have held dear to their hearts the five-star mentality, and that has been proven by the rating received."
